This is considered the best plant sale in Rhode Island and it only happens once a year. If you are a member of the RI Wild Plant
Society you know to be there early and bring a wagon to buy…see the members of the RI Wild Plant Society get to shop early like at 8:30 a.m. while the rest of us wait with baited breath that the exotic trillium or what may be the prize of the day is still available at the true opening at 9 a.m. Oh boy, this is painful for all the hard core gardeners out there in RI real estate!
This is my favorite plant sale and being an organic gardener and past organic farmer, when i tell you some of the varieties are so rare believe me and do not miss out on this plant extravaganza. From exotic ferns to the most unusual perennials, annuals and small shrubs, it is worth your time on Saturday June 4th to make it to East Farm on URI’s extended campus off of Rte. 108.
The Wild Plant Society sale will be clearly marked and you can also attend the South Kingstown Farmers’ Market which is located there right after you make the beeline for the wild plant society sale.
