Bonnet Shores – Narragansett neighborhood

One thing I have shared with clients is that Narragansett has a great diversity of

Bonnet Shores

waterfront neighborhoods to explore and check out when RI real estate house hunting and Bonnet Shores is one of them.  All neighborhoods are fairly close to the beaches on Narragansett Bay or the ocean – the choice is yours.

Having lived in Bonnet Shores, I know the neighborhood well and it has certainly evolved

over time into a great community of vacation, rentals  and year round living for property owners.

Their are two paths to follow in Bonnet Shores.  For this post I will explore the neighborhood off Bonnet Shores Road which is considered the northern neighborhood.

A myriad of streets from Onondega, What Cheer, King Phillip Roads to Colonel John Gardiner Road which coast along the easterly end of Bonnet Shores.  They all look out onto the town of  Jamestown (Conanicut Island) on Narragansett Bay with RI real estate water views.

Homes in Bonnet Shores run the gamut of still tiny summer cottages to tear down homes or ultra 35 foot high newly built or renovated homes.  From cedar shingled to vinyl, the exteriors do weather the New England shoreline climate well.

Prices range from $3.5 million to $300,000 for Bonnet Shores homes for sale here and homes come in all shapes and sizes.  Occasionally, a fixer upper for under $300,000 appears on the real estate market but not for long!  I am sure there is one home that fits you and your budget too!

An important point for home buyers in Narragansett to realize is that space is at a minimum….property, land & square footage of parcels for sale.  The more property you have, especially on the waterfront or with water views, the much higher the asking price is.

Being next to neighbors is the way it is for most of the property owners here and having a lot of privacy is rarely a given.  So be aware of this fact when you are searching for a second home or a primary home.  If you want a larger lot it is going to cost you more money.  Remember you are buying into the beaches and views!

A tight and wonderful Narragansett community awaits you here as you explore the charm of this neighborhood.  From rental homes to owner occupied homes living by the beach and the waterfront in Narragansett is what draws home buyers to the neighborhood.  If you have an interest in exploring this neighborhood of homes, reach out to me at 401.529.7849, Ginny Gorman, your RI Real Estate specialist today.
