Waterfront Wickford RI – Art Festival
and Sunday from 10-6 pm. It is run by the Wickford Art Association and now it is one of the oldest Art Festivals in the country and recognized internationally. In RI we are so proud to have this honor to see this festival in our own backyard and to be ranked as one of the top Arts Festival in New England!
Over 200 artists participate in this outdoor Wickford Art Festival event and although there are spots for many of the Wickford Art Association members, other artists from around the globe compete for the remaining spots- it’s a world class Art Festival. The quality of artists’ works is superb.
The Wickford Art Festival has maintained and strengthened its community ties, utilizing the efforts of local Boy Scouts, the Rotary Club, and several Wickford RI churches who offer free coffee and donuts to the artists setting up their exhibits. You will also find for sale a variety of local foods, including clam chowder and clam cakes prepared with Rhode Island’s popular mollusk, the Quahog (it is a type of clam in case you don’t know).
It’s a true walking around event so bring some comfortable shoes and hats as well as sunscreen.

Parking and buses will be shuttling festival goers from nearby parks and schools (parking signs all around the town perimeter). The North Kingstown Chamber of Commerce located on Post Road, right outside of Wickford RI, can provide more information on parking.
Wickford RI can be awe inspiring by it’s Nantucket village look and the historic homes are majestic and worth exploring. It’s my home town so I am somewhat impartial but it has a wonderful community and family atmosphere here. So bring your friends and make it a day, it is an artful way to spend the weekend in Wickford RI! So put on your walking shoes and visit us this weekend.
