South Kingstown RI
is another waterfront and
suburban town in South County which is just south of North Kingstown. Whether it’s the two beaches or three rivers located within its borders – here you can swim and fish to your hearts delight. The state’s university, University of Rhode Island, is located here within the village of Kingston and houses a great skating center and sports complex for all in RI to enjoy. From the various hamlet villages of Peace dale, Kingston, Wakefield, West Kingston, Matunuck, East Matunuck, Green Hill – it is all part of the same lively town. Peace dale and Wakefield villages were just given top honors for 2011 as one of the Best Places to Raise Your Kids by Bloomberg’s Businessweek! So many activities bring this town to light such as the July Balloon Festivals to amazing concerts at Peace dale’s Village Green in the summer plus the spectacular fireworks on the fourth of July at Old Mountain field. Cultural activities abound with the Courthouse Center for the Arts which has amazing stage productions and musical extravaganzas not to be missed (located right on Route 138 near the Kingston Train Station).
