Wickford RI 02852 Festival of Lights – December 2-5th
It is the 25th anniversary of the Wickford RI 02852 Festival of Lights – December 2-5th starting at 6 pm in downtown Updike Park. All graciously sponsored by the North Kingstown Chamber of Commerce.
First, Friday night is the lighting of the town’s Christmas tree and of course the arrival of Santa Claus (who knows he may come in by boat due to the lack of snow!). The Lafayette band will be providing the music and the North Kingstown community youth chorus will be singing.
All the local merchants throughout Wickford have decorated the stores which will be all aglow starting Friday evening. A majority of the stores will be staying open until 9 pm so make sure you come down to join in the festive North Kingstown town spirit. All this is part of the effort to bring townspeople back to their local stores – supporting local merchants is important…
Saturday & Sunday Festival of Light events:
-Breakfast with Santa at the North Kingstown Community Center (Adults $10,Kids $5)
-Santa arrives at the Town Dock by boat
-Hayrides with Santa starting by the Town dock ($2/person)
-‘The Ladies of the Rolling Pin’ dance at Updike Park
-Concert at the North Kingstown High School by the North Kingstown Community Chorus and Youth Chorus.
-Carolers will be strolling Wickford village and caroling a way too.
