It is official the long awaited train station within North Kingstown RI in the Wickford Junction

Plaza just off Ten Rod Road and a half mile from Route 4, this station was officially christened today.
The all new Wickford RI train station is a huge complex with parking and eventually shops to fill the lower floor of the building. BUT what is important is the ease with this mass transit system to get to Warwick RI, Providence or Boston MA. Long overdue and years in the making there is strong hope that this will re-energize North Kingstown as a go to suburb to live in with this rail service now available here.
It will be a snap to get to Boston especially now and I know job hunters who have now taken jobs in Boston due to the new train service at Wickford train station. Over 20 trips a day will be available to Boston commuters!
Time to get to Boston is approximately 2 hours each way and the cost is $9 each way (July 2012 price increases to $11). Seniors and disabled citizens pay half price. Yes, there are monthly passes that significantly reduce your costs with unlimited travel included. This is a win-win situation for all South County residents. So come down and check it out.
