put aside the need for securing your Rhode Island real estate. So many distractions occur in everyone’s life that even a punch list does not always help!

Your home is your castle…is it not? So take the time to make it more secure for yourself and family. If you have children they may be coming home to a home alone until your or your partner returns from work so make your home very secure.
One of the first things on my checklist for new home buyers in my Rhode Island real estate closings is change the locks.
Keys by others whether they are former tenants, neighbors you do not know, vendors doing work on the home in the past and all an opening to your castle.

Ginny – you make a great point that sometimes we forget during this busy time when kids go back to school to secure our homes, like changing the locks once we moved. This should be job number 1 after closing! Great information as always!
